ZION originally started in Bay Ridge and now meets in Sunset Park. This means our church is made up of people not only from these neighborhoods but the surrounding ones as well. We love to get to know others looking for community and who believe church was never meant to be a building or a location, but a group of people who walk out life together. ZION Brooklyn is a church in South Brooklyn that has been around for over five years. We are a diverse community of believers in Brooklyn, NY that meet in a loft on Sunday mornings but are interested in a lot more than a Sunday meeting. Our church community hinges on three major values: community, discipleship, and prayer. We believe those are the values that God has called us to be formed by and into. As we make decisions and grow as a new church in Sunset Park and Christ Church Bay Ridge, those values are the guiding lights.
What to Expect
On a Sunday, you will be greeted outside by one of our team members who will point you to our meeting space. We are on the second floor and wheelchair accessible. We start off every service with a Call to Worship from the scriptures, followed by our band leading us in a musical selection, a sermon from our current sermon series, prayer and worship, and an ending benediction. After every service, we love when people stick around to hang out, get to know each other, and meet people from our Brooklyn church in NYC.
What Type of Church Are We?
Our church is structured around scripture, and our aim is to be biblical in everything we do. For the experience, we are very similar to non-denominational churches in Brooklyn. For a Statement of Faith, please check out the About page to see what we believe. This Sunset Park Christian church is all about bringing people into deeper obedience to the scriptures and Jesus. To do that, we strive to have a community filled with grace for each other and the truth of God’s Word. We want to be the Brooklyn Church of Christ that you call home.
Location
There are lots of churches in Brooklyn, NY, and we celebrate that. We hope to serve as a church that reaches Sunset Park, Park Slope, Bay Ridge, and the surrounding neighborhoods. Public transportation makes it easy to get to us via train (D, N, R) or Bus (B70). With plenty of parking, cars are always a great option! There is also a CitiBike right next to our space. Whether a church in Park Slope or a Bay Ridge church, you will find people from all over our part of Brooklyn.
Community Events
At ZION we have an app with different events that go on throughout the week. Bible study in Dyker Heights, hang outs in Bay Ridge, BBQs in Park Slope – you name it. We love to get together and be the church. We don’t believe in going to church because the church was never meant to be a place but a people. We hope to see you soon!
